THE SPECULATIVE OCEAN
Creatures the current only imagined.
A creative section for luminous reefs, future seas and invented fish. Every piece here is labelled as fiction so wonder never masquerades as evidence.

IMAGINED SPECIES · FICTION
The Violet Sailfish of Meridian Trench
In our illustrated field fiction, a slow-moving fish unfolds translucent fins like solar sails. Magenta points pulse along the edges—not as a lure, but as a map shared with its school in absolute darkness.
The creature is imaginary. Its visual language is inspired by documented uses of light in marine life, then deliberately carried into fantasy.
